Blossom's Mission Statement

​

The mission of this learning environment is to provide quality childcare and early education that meets the highest standards. We strive to nurture each child’s curiosity, creativity, and desire for learning through a balanced curriculum of play activities, interactive learning experiences, and individualized instruction.

Blossom's Preschool Academy is an experience that is based in education and skill development in order to prepare your child for the early years of any school system. Being a kindergarten teacher for a significant portion of my 17 years in teaching, I have developed proven systems and methodologies for getting kids involved in the process of school and keeping them engaged in that mindset throughout.

​

Most importantly, and I speak as a parent of a child currently working through the system, I believe that being positive and showing the kids that I have a strong mindset, is the way to get the most out of each experience. I encourage learning in fun ways that subsequently help to lock into a preschooler's train of thought, while wanting to come back for more. We never say we can't, we only say we will try, which ultimately translates into we can.

Kindergarten Readiness Curriculum

 

Students will be able to:

Reading Skills:

-Recognize both capital and lower-case letters 

-Learn sounds corresponding to vowels and constants

-Recognize some sight words 

-Identify rhyming words

-Read Nonsense words

 

Math Skills:

-Identify Numbers 1-10

-Count objects to 10

-Know colors and shapes

-Understand patterns

Kindergarten Skills:

-Follow multi-step directions

-Use scissors, glue, paint, and other art materials with relative ease

-Work together with a friend or in small groups
